Job description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to support and scale our DataBlend integration platform. In this role, you will handle day-to-day customer support tickets and quickly ramp up to take ownership of more complex integration and data-related issues. Strong, handsโ€‘on SQL skills are important for this role, as SQL will be used regularly to investigate data, validate results, and troubleshoot customer issues.

You will troubleshoot integration and data issues end-to-end, identify whether problems originate from our platform, third-party application, or customer configurations, and communicate clearly with business users, including finance and accounting stakeholders.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Own and resolve daily support tickets related to integrations, data discrepancies, and synchronization issues
  • Quickly ramp up to handle more complex integration behaviors and advanced troubleshooting scenarios
  • Investigate issues by tracing data flows and writing repeatable SQL diagnostic queries to validate data, identify discrepancies, and isolate root causes
  • Gather clear, structured evidence before escalating issues to Services and Product teams
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering by submitting high-quality, well-documented escalation tickets (clear reproduction steps, impact, and suspected components)
  • Create and improve internal troubleshooting guides and contribute to knowledge base content to reduce repeat issues
  • Clearly communicate technical findings and next steps to non-technical customers, especially finance and accounting users
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Very strong, handsโ€‘on SQL skills, including the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries, joins, aggregations, and data validation queries, with experience working with at least one major database (Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of APIs and integration concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting and triage skills: ability to reproduce issues, isolate variables, identify patterns, and propose fixes or workarounds
  • Proven ability to explain technical root causes and next steps to non-technical users (finance/accounting).
  • Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing habits
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with finance and accounting concepts (chart of accounts, journal entries, AR/AP, invoices, dimensions/classes, multi-entity)
  • Experience supporting integrations with ERP, accounting, CRM, or iPaaS platforms
  • Comfort using Postman, including authentication setups (API keys, OAuth, bearer tokens), headers, environments, and reproducing issues outside the platform
Core Traits We Value
  • A structured problem solver who breaks down complex issues and identifies root causes
  • Detail-oriented with a strong eye for data inconsistencies
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability from investigation through resolution
  • Calm and resilient when working through ambiguity and customer pressure
  • A clear communicator who translates technical findings into plain language and provides concise, actionable updates to internal teams
