Job description

We are looking for an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to support and strengthen the organization’s infrastructure in Phoenix, Arizona. This position centers on Linux administration and Kubernetes operations while also contributing to security, automation, and day-to-day platform reliability. The ideal candidate brings a practical approach to troubleshooting, a strong foundation in modern infrastructure tools, and the ability to keep critical environments stable, secure, and scalable.


Responsibilities:

• Administer Linux-based server environments across physical and virtual systems, ensuring dependable performance and consistent availability.

• Oversee patching, backups, health checks, and ongoing monitoring to keep infrastructure secure and operating efficiently.

• Diagnose and resolve server, network, and application performance issues while serving as an escalation point for complex support needs.

• Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters in cloud or on-premises environments, including upgrades, resilience planning, and recovery readiness.

• Support containerized workloads by configuring namespaces, access controls, network rules, and persistent storage within Kubernetes.

• Build and improve automation for provisioning, deployment, and operational tasks using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Partner with engineering teams to refine container deployment practices, release workflows, and platform standards.

• Apply security controls across systems and clusters by addressing vulnerabilities, reinforcing hardening measures, and supporting compliance efforts.

• Maintain accurate technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and support runbooks.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering Linux systems in a production environment.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container-based application operations.
• Experience with scripting in Bash or Python and familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, storage technologies, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar observability tools.
• Ability to support broader infrastructure environments that may include Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Citrix, or end-user systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Availability to assist during occasional after-hours incidents or scheduled maintenance activities.
