Job description

Linux Systems Administrator (Onsite)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator with approximately 8 years of Linux administration experience (slightly junior or senior candidates will be considered). This role is critical to maintaining secure, reliable, and compliant IT systems across interconnected, sensitive environments. The ideal candidate will have strong systems administration expertise combined with security and compliance experience in classified or collateral operations.

This is a 100% onsite role from day one, with limited potential for partial remote work in the future depending on project needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, administer, and support Linux-based IT infrastructure across secure and unclassified environments
  • Configure, maintain, and support physical and virtual servers and researcher workstations
  • Perform vulnerability remediation, addressing Cat 1, 2, and 3 findings in a timely manner
  • Implement and maintain DoD STIGs, SCAPs, and RMF controls
  • Recognize and troubleshoot issues affecting developer and researcher systems across Linux, Windows, Solaris, and UNIX-based platforms
  • Configure and manage centralized logging and audit capabilities
  • Support identity and access management systems, including Red Hat IDM, SSSD, LDAP, and Active Directory
  • Administer VMware environments including ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN
  • Support patching and configuration management for Linux and Windows Server platforms
  • Collaborate with teams to support new technologies as they are adopted
  • Adhere to all laboratory policies, procedures, and security requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
