How You Will Make an Impact:

The IT System Administrator will work as part of a small team at a fast paced, high-energy manufacturing environment at both the Kermit TX and Monahans TX locations.  

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment both indoors and outdoors, diagnosing full functionality of computers interfacing to factory equipment, process controls, monitoring, and automation.
  • Demonstrated experience providing desktop support for local and remote office staff 
  • Demonstrated experience administering production Windows Server Operating Systems including on-premise, at remote locations, and in cloud service providers such as Office 365 and Azure. 
  • Demonstrated experience administering virtualization software such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience administering Shared storage environments such as DAS, NAS. and SAN devices from vendors such as HP, Dell, Network Appliance, and EMC.
  • Ability to deploy moderately complex IT infrastructure into multiple geographic locations, including optimized virtualization, on premise or cloud Exchange email administration, advanced Active Directory administration, ERP, and Business Intelligence systems, Web presence, and more. 
  • Familiarity with the installation and operation of a variety of open-source software such as Linux, Apache, PHP and others. 
  • Familiarity with Administration of LAN/WAN networking products including Routers, Switches, Firewall devices, VPN's, and more. 
  • General aptitude for scripting and programmatic optimization of repeated administrative processes in Linux and Windows environments. 
  • Good mentoring and training skills are required. 
  • Must multitask efficiently in a high-energy office.
  • Must be highly skilled at documenting processes and procedures.  
  • Willing to work at multiple geographic locations within Texas (Primarily Kermit and Monahans).  Some travel may be required to Austin and other locations. (10%). 
  • Must demonstrate and exercise good verbal and written communication skills in English.   
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, and be "on-call" after hours. 
  • Must be willing and able to accept new tasks as assigned.   
  • Will often set their own priorities based on general guidelines and direction. 
  • Must have a friendly and supportive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-player mindset.
  • Must often compare alternative courses of action and make logical decisions. 
  • Must work well with ambiguity and tasks will not always be routine. 
  • Will have the authority and will be expected to make some decisions on their own, without direct guidance from supervisor. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma/Degree or preferred would be an AAS in a technical field such as Computer Science, substantial experience in related functions and/or industries may be considered as a substitute.  
  • Must have at minimum two years real world experience with desktop support and administering production servers.  
  • Windows Server and Desktop support expertise.  
  • Must be comfortable working in both a manufacturing environment outdoors, and office environments.
