This is an opportunity to work on highly visible, enterprise-scale Epic environments while collaborating with talented teams across Digital, Clinical Informatics, and Operations. Our engineers play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of systems that support millions of patient interactions each year.
The Systems Engineer II - Epic ODBA is responsible for managing the enterprise Epic EHR database environments at Mass General Brigham. The Engineer provides ongoing support including building, upgrading, patching and extensive monitoring.
The Epic ODBA will ensure stability, performance and high availability of these critical systems.


Qualifications

What You'll Do
  • Manage and support Epic ODB environments, including installations, configurations, upgrades, and patching
  • Perform IRIS database administration and support enterprise Epic infrastructure
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance while supporting capacity planning efforts
  • Partner with Epic application, infrastructure, and operations teams to maintain a highly available environment
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement scalable solutions
  • Support ongoing modernization initiatives, including cloud and platform engineering efforts
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • This role can review and consider experience in lieu of a degree
  • Epic ODBA certification Preferred
  • Experience administering enterprise systems and platform
  • Experience administering and supporting enterprise Epic environments
  • Strong knowledge of Epic infrastructure, ODB management, upgrades, and patching
  • Experience with system performance analysis, troubleshooting, and capacity planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong InterSystems IRIS database administration expertise
  • UNIX/Linux system administration and scripting experience
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with Epic Chronicles, Data Courier, and related Epic technologies
  • Passion for solving complex technical challenges in a mission-driven healthcare environment


Skills For Success
