Location: New York City, NY

Position Type: Hybrid, (3 days onsite minimum)

Duration: 9 Months

Job Summary:

Linux Security Engineer Job Requirements

We are looking to accelerate delivery timelines for software updates across our range of tooling used to manage Kerberos authentication and related activities at Morgan Stanley

  • Ideal: Highly experienced UNIX/Linux systems/security engineer proficient in C systems and network programming and systems integration in an enterprise environment
  • Must have:
    • Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating environments
    • Proficiency with UNIX/Linux systems and network programming IN C
    • Experience with Perl programming
    • Awareness of security concepts and defensive programming
    • Familiarity with Kerberos
    • Ability to work to delivery deadlines
  • Very nice to have
    • Experience of contributing to open source projects
    • Familiarity with Python
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience with deployment automation pipelines (Jenkins)
    • Kerberos development experience
    • Comfort working in an agile development environment
  • What we are not seeking:
    • Pure developers unfamiliar with deployment and problem resolution challenges
    • Embedded C developers
    • High level language developers are unfamiliar with direct use of the UNIX/Linux C system interface.
