Job description

Summary
This leadership position works closely with Stations Support, the NOC, Software Development, DevOps, Linux Engineering, Quality Assurance, Information Assurance, Information Security, Database Administration, Network Engineering, and Project Management teams in order to maintain and enhance our existing processes.  Candidates should have prior experience working in a large, fast-paced, enterprise environment working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent work experience.  
Years of Experience:  Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an IT management position. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Windows, VMware, Cisco UCS, and SAN systems design and implementation in large enterprise environments.

•Extensive experience deploying, and maintaining virtual infrastructure running VMware ESXi 5.x/6.x on Cisco UCS hardware.
•Technical knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies (vCenter, vSphere, ESXi, DRS, vMotion, HA, FT, DRS, SRM, vROPs, vShield)
•Experience with vCloud Suite, vRealize Operations Manager.
•Extensive experience with Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Failover Cluster Services, MS SQL, SharePoint, etc..
•Experience with NetBackup, and various enterprise backup strategies.
•In-depth knowledge of network protocols, such as IP, ARP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, NTP, SNMP, etc.
•Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively and take lead in a tight-knit team environment.
•Able to maintain meticulous documentation and procedures.
 
Job Duties
•Daily management of IT personnel, team member PTO requests, performance reviews, and fostering of team work & cohesion.
•The proper management of departmental resources to facilitate internal and business project needs, is also a key aspect of the daily duties.
•Keeps an open line of communication to report daily and/or weekly to upper management on the status of the team’s projects/tasks, and or any system break/fix issues that may have occurred.
•Operational and Production Support – Ensure operational uptime of corporate and production systems essential to Allegiant and its customers.
•Production and SDLC Compute Hardware & Virtual Abstraction Management – This includes the architecture, oversight, responsibility, and capacity planning of all physical and virtual compute resources that are relied upon by DEV, DevOps, DBA, Linux Systems, and Corporate users.
•New Technology – It is the responsibility of the Windows Engineering & Virtualization Manager to stay current with technology, and research new technologies that might benefit Allegiant in the near future.
•Budget management –This position will require close interaction with the department head and third party vendors to prepare for the annual budget schedule. Also ensure that all purchases are within the approved budgeted numbers.
•Managing third party relations - Allegiant makes use of different third party services. The Windows Engineering & Virtualization Manager is responsible for engaging, and maintaining a positive relationship with our contracted, and noncontract vendors, and ensures that the third party properly executes the agreed terms and conditions.
•Other duties as assigned.

Office/IT - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24 hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
