We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Linux System Administrator / System Engineer to support a high-visibility mission environment within the Intelligence Community. This role requires deep expertise in Linux system administration, virtualization, automation, and security compliance, along with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux-based systems (RHEL/CentOS) in a secure enterprise environment
  • Support mission-critical infrastructure with a focus on availability, performance, and security
  • Create, configure, and manage VMware virtual machines
  • Install, configure, and maintain JBoss application environments
  • Implement automation solutions using Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools
  • Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Support security compliance initiatives and system hardening efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across storage, networking, and security domains
  • Provide support for 24x7 operations, including on-call and after-hours response
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator/Engineer
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Strong expertise with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) environments
  • Experience with VMware VM creation, configuration, and operations
  • Security+ Certification (required)
  • Experience supporting IC (Intelligence Community) mission environments
Highly Desired Qualifications
  • Active or recent SYS3 Privileged Access
  • Extensive experience with JBoss installation, configuration, and administration
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
  • Storage systems and administration
  • Networking fundamentals and infrastructure support
  • Security compliance and auditing
  • Authentication systems
  • Scripting with Shell and/or Python
  • Physical server administration
  • Experience with Oracle Database and potential DBA exposure
  • Familiarity with JSON (JavaScript Object Notation)
Salary range for this position: $151,000 - $170,000 #CJ
