Description:

Education Analytics (EA) is a nonprofit organization that partners with states, school districts, and education organizations to improve student outcomes through data, analytics, and technology. We believe that better data systems and collaborative technology can help education leaders make more informed decisions that positively impact students.


We are looking for an IT Systems and Network Administrator to join our IT team on-site in our office in downtown Madison, WI. This position supports Education Analytics’ IT operations by designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting IT system related solutions for the organization. This position will be accountable for network design, maintenance, and operations; and various IT systems, including server management, backup infrastructure, communication tools, and domain systems.

Requirements:
  • Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance, and operations support.
  • Windows and Linux Server implementation and management in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Manage Windows Active Directory Domain service and related servers, including ADUC, GPOs, Certificate Services, DNS, NPS, LDAP, etc.
  • Administer Azure AD and Office 365 services including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, SSO.
  • Networking administration and support including wired/Wi-Fi connectivity, VPN management, basic routing and switching, network policy, and ACLs.
  • Security Operations including systems hardening, development of best-practice security procedures, SIEM implementation, security audits, and managing incident responses.
  • Assist with user, software, hardware, and connectivity support as both a backup and escalation point to the primary Helpdesk Admins.
  • Proactively monitor workstations, servers and other infra for performance, security, and reliability.
  • Support regular backup operations, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Physical installations of various computer, storage, networking, and conferencing hardware.
  • Manage user workstation deployments, including provisioning, update cycles, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Maintain system integrity by identifying, researching, and fixing/patching vulnerabilities within the environment.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure deployments, processes, and procedures.
  • Research and implement latest technology tools to support growth at EA.
  • Work with outside vendors to procure technologies and maintain licensing oversight.
  • Train users on systems, applications, security, and other IT related procedures.
  • Occasional after-hour maintenance, emergency response, and support.
  • Lead desktop engineering efforts, managing and optimizing workstation deployment strategies via Intune, RMM, and other advanced tools; execute comprehensive patch management, profile configurations, and compliance protocols to ensure robust, secure, and up-to-date systems.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization, vendors, partners, and industry peers.
  • Protect the security and privacy of all company and customer information and data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer systems/network administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related educational and/or work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in the field with Windows and Linux server environments.
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
  • 1+ years of experience in network topology design and management.
  • Additional education or certifications relevant to the job description. (Microsoft or M365 certified, CompTIA, Cisco CCNA to similar networking, RHCSA, Linux Foundation, etc.)
