Location: Fairfax, VA

Salary: $130,000 - $220,000 + Exceptional Benefits (Total Compensation up to $330,000)

We're supporting a highly regarded technology organization delivering critical solutions across the US Intelligence and National Security community, who are searching for a Linux Systems Administrator.


As demand across several long-standing programs continues to grow, they are looking to add a Linux Systems Administrator to their Fairfax, VA team. This is an opportunity to work within a large-scale enterprise environment supporting infrastructure that underpins some of the most technically challenging and important missions.


The role offers exposure to both traditional enterprise platforms and modern cloud-native technologies, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems while continuing to develop their technical skillset.


Responsibilites

  • Administering and supporting enterprise Linux environments
  • Maintaining infrastructure across physical, virtual and cloud-based platforms
  • Managing operating system upgrades, patching and security remediation
  • Monitoring system performance, availability and capacity
  • Troubleshooting hardware, operating system and network-related issues
  • Supporting application deployments and infrastructure enhancements
  • Building, testing and validating new server environments
  • Working closely with engineering teams to improve automation, reliability and scalability


What We're Looking For

  • Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux or similar)
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
  • Scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python or similar
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including switching, subnets and VLANs
  • Experience working with virtualized environments
  • Knowledge of system security, hardening and vulnerability remediation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Security+ or CISSP certification


Desirable Experience

  • Kubernetes, Docker or containerized environments
  • Cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures
  • Puppet, GitLab or other configuration management tools
  • GPFS / IBM ESS
  • Directory services administration
  • Enterprise storage technologies including SAN and Fibre Channel


Clearance Requirement

Applicants must hold an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility. Candidates already holding TS/SCI are strongly encouraged to apply.
