Job description

Job Title: Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Automation Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Automation Architect to design and build the automation solutions that power our entire operations engine. This is not a traditional system administration role; this is for an engineer who treats infrastructure as software. You will architect robust automation frameworks, write production-grade code, and build the "self-service" platforms that allow our engineering teams to move faster and more reliably.
If you are a builder who thrives on solving "the hard problems" by replacing manual, error-prone tasks with elegant, automated solutions, this is the perfect environment for you. You will play a pivotal role in architecting our cloud footprint and establishing the standards for our future-state infrastructure delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design (90%)
• IaC Architecture: Design and deploy highly scalable, secure, and resilient AWS infrastructure using Terraform. Lead the creation of complex modules, multi-environment state management, and reusable infrastructure patterns.
• Automation Frameworks: Architect end-to-end automation solutions. Develop high-impact tools and scripts in Python to streamline operational workflows, from server provisioning to custom remediation.
• Pipeline Orchestration: Build and manage enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions) to automate the testing and deployment of infrastructure code.
• Platform Engineering: Create "self-service" capability platforms that allow product teams to provision resources safely and autonomously.
• Self-Healing Systems: Develop automated monitoring and remediation workflows that proactively identify and resolve infrastructure anomalies.
Technical Guidance (10%)
• Operational Excellence: Troubleshoot complex, cross-domain issues (Cloud/Network/Systems) and optimize existing automation for maximum reliability and performance.
• Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert on automation best practices, mentoring team members on how to integrate security, cost-efficiency, and scalability into their code.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of five (5) years of extensive experience in AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
• IaC Mastery: Expert-level proficiency with Terraform (modules, state management, multi-environment strategy).
• Scripting Proficiency: Strong Python development ability, with supplemental experience in Bash and/or PowerShell.
• Automation Tooling: Hands-on experience with Ansible and CI/CD orchestration tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).
• Systems Fluency: Deep understanding of Linux/Windows OS, networking concepts, and security best practices.
• Communication: Ability to document complex architecture clearly and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Attributes
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS/ECS).
• Experience with GitOps workflows and observability platforms.
• AWS Professional-level certifications or a background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
