Job Summary:
MDAEdge is a top-tier proprietary trading firm seeking a Network Design Engineer to enhance their global network infrastructure. The role involves designing and maintaining a low-latency network to support electronic trading systems, while managing various network components and ensuring security and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and maintain a low-latency, high-availability network infrastructure to support electronic trading systems.
• Configure and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, and other network components, ensuring seamless connectivity across wide area networks (WANs).
• Implement and manage core networking technologies, including LACP, STP, VLAN, MLAG, OSPF, BGP, IGMP, and PIM.
• Oversee multicast routing configurations, ensuring efficient data distribution in trading environments.
• Manage security devices, including firewalls, and enforce network security policies.
• Administer network services such as SNMP/Telemetry, Syslog, NTP/PTP, and TACACS+/RADIUS for monitoring and access control.
• Leverage network automation frameworks (Bash, Python, Ansible, Netbox) to streamline deployments and operational tasks.
• Work extensively with Unix/Linux command line and networking stack for system integration and troubleshooting.
• Oversee data center operations, including cabling and optics standards, hardware installation requirements, and collaboration with smart hands teams.
• Utilize expertise in Arista or Cisco technologies/CLI for network configuration and management.
• Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in network performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
Required:

• Strong understanding of networking protocols, WANs, multicast routing, and security architectures.
