Job description

[About the Role]
Join our dynamic team as a Service Engineer supporting Dell server and data center systems in Ellendale, ND. This is a contract position offering hands-on experience with cutting-edge server technologies, including the latest AI platforms. You'll play a vital role in ensuring uptime, conducting maintenance, and collaborating with both internal teams and customers. This opportunity provides exposure to advanced hardware, real-world troubleshooting, and a pathway for professional growth in the fast-evolving field of data center and AI infrastructure.
[Responsibilities]
- Deliver on-site technical support for Dell servers and data center equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring peak performance
- Execute hardware maintenance, including server builds, hardware swaps, component replacements, and firmware updates
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, firmware, and operating system issues, escalating unresolved cases as needed
- Perform both preventive and reactive maintenance, adhering to established protocols
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal teams throughout service events
- Maintain thorough documentation of service tasks and contribute to knowledge sharing
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide extended support coverage as required
[Required Skills and Experience]
- 3-5+ years' experience in technical support, field service, or data center operations
- Proficiency in servicing server hardware (CPU, memory, power supplies, GPUs)
- Familiarity with Linux or comparable operating systems
- Strong troubleshooting and independent problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to travel to customer sites, lift up to 50 lbs, and accommodate flexible/on-call scheduling
- Associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent relevant experience

- Dell or other vendor certifications
- Experience supporting AI platforms or emerging data center technologies
- Prior exposure to enterprise or customer-facing environments
