Job description

Hansen Talent Group is seeking a DevOps/Platform Engineer to support a VMWare re-platforming project, focusing on container management. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience supporting Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines for cloud platforms and programming work with Python and Go Lang.
What you''ll do:

  • Configuring and maintaining the infrastructure, support with any tasks related to OLVM migration, ensuring compatibility and integration with the VMWare re-platforming process.
  • Leveraging Kubernetes for container management, automating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Groovy, and performing Unix/Linux system administration to ensure stability and scalability. Their work will support the seamless transition and integration of OLVM within the broader VMWare re-platforming initiative.
  • Support cloud engineering and CI/CD pipeline automation including modify existing pipelines to align with the VMWare re-platforming and OLVM migration requirements, as well as developing new pipelines to address specific needs of the project.
  • Use Jenkins, Python, Groovy, and shell scripting to support automation tasks, including building, deploying, and maintaining pipelines
  • Monitor system health, troubleshooting issues, applying patches, and ensuring the scalability of the infrastructure. Utilize system availability (uptime percentage), CI/CD pipeline efficiency (deployment speed and success rate), and incident resolution times (mean time to recovery) for success metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to standard security practices, including secure coding, access control, and data protection measures, while working on the migration and maintenance phases.
  • Collaboration with other engineers and project managers. 

Qualifications:
  • In-depth experience working with Kubernetes and Rancher to manage containers and orchestrate deployments in cloud and virtualized environments
  • Programming experience with Jenkins, Python, Go Lang
  • Scripting experience with BASH to support UNIX/LINUX server operations
