Embedded Firmware Developer – How You'll Make an Impact:

As an Embedded Firmware Developer, you will be working with small, cross-functional teams in the development of products that promote public safety. You will be responsible for designing, developing, prototyping, and testing embedded firmware providing functions such as data acquisition, signal processing, graphical display, power management, menu systems, etc. You will also collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure that the solutions meet business requirements and adhere to the best practices and standards.

Embedded Firmware Developer – What You Need to Succeed:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience designing firmware for embedded systems.
  • Familiar with communications interfaces to include USB, I2C, SPI, I2S, UART, Ethernet, etc.
  • Proficient in C and familiar with bare-metal and real-time operating systems and microcontrollers.
  • Hands-on experience with engineering test equipment used in debugging firmware and hardware.
  • Good problem solving and teamwork skills.
  • Good communication skills with an innovator mindset.

We Will Be Particularly Interested If You Have:

  • Experience in developing application firmware for Linux-based embedded systems.
  • Experience in developing application firmware for Thread-X or Microsoft Azure RTOS.
  • Experience in TCP/IP based communications.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based communications and database APIs.
