We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to own the lifecycle of our Linux-based fleet. You will be the primary architect and administrator for our Ubuntu endpoints and the Red Hat-based infrastructure that supports them. You will provide global support, ensuring that our teams worldwide have stable, secure, and high-performing workstations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Endpoint Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain Ubuntu desktop endpoints for a global user base.
  • Infrastructure Support: Manage and scale the back-end infrastructure (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) supporting desktop operations, including update servers, authentication, and configuration management.
  • Security & Patching: Implement automated patching schedules and security hardening for all Linux clients to meet our rigorous cybersecurity standards.
  • Automation: Utilize scripting (Bash, Python) or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef) to streamline repetitive tasks and ensure consistency across the fleet.
  • Global Support: Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for Linux-related hardware and software issues for our remote and international offices.
  • Standardization: Create and maintain gold images, hardware procurement standards, and comprehensive documentation for the Linux environment.
  • Virtualization: Assist in building out and deploying Linux-based virtualization (Proxmox) to support up to 50 Windows-based VMs.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • OS Expertise: Deep professional experience administering Ubuntu Desktop and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Infrastructure: Familiarity with Linux directory services (LDAP/FreeIPA/Active Integration) and package management (APT/YUM/DNF).
  • Scripting: Proficiency in Bash scripting is required; Python experience is a significant plus.
  • Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations within a Linux environment.
  • Hardware: Experience managing enterprise-grade laptop/desktop hardware and peripherals.
  • Mindset: A proactive problem-solver who enjoys ownership

  • Workplace Flexibility: Hybrid (3-4 days in-office per week). Candidates must be located in the United States.

  • The base salary range for this position is $80-115K, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
