Principal Cloud Engineer

Full Time Perm

Way of Work: Hybrid, 3 days on location

Salary Range:$133,400 - 200,100, plus 10% annual bonus

Principal Engineers in the NiSource IT department supports the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for various products and platforms. This work involves working on agile product and platform teams that require hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Cloud Engineers must have deep expertise in the Microsoft Azure platform, including cloud deployment strategies, operational and financial management, security best practices, and integrating complex onpremises systems with SaaS and cloudbased applications. The Cloud Engineers also oversee the design and support of cloudbased data solutions, including data analytics platforms, data lakes, and storage architectures.

Your additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical Support: Assist in the design, development, and implementation of solutions for assigned technical product/platform.

  • Solution Development: Develop and implement solutions that enhance the functionality and performance of assigned products or platforms

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, service providers and stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions

  • Code and Configuration Review and Quality Assurance: Participate in reviews and ensure that solutions meet quality standards and best practices

  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, providing support and maintenance for existing systems

  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to contribute to innovation and continuous improvement in platform solutions

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure Cloud or Data Center Domain

  • Solutioning of enterprise-wide cloud governance policies to ensure scalability, compliance, and security

  • Designing and implementing disaster recovery strategies and ensure their integration across hybrid and cloud environments
