Tech Talent International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100/500/1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US and Europe.

We currently have a role as a Network Security Engineer with our large consulting client on a long term project with a major financial services client in the downtown Montreal area.

Role: Network Security Engineer

Type: Permanent 

Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home)

Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 + 9% bonus + 3-5 weeks paid vacation + RRSP contribution + benefits + sick/personal day

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and intermittently improving our current network configuration and infrastructure. You will design our revamped network infrastructure with the goal of maximizing our network performance. You will also provide troubleshooting and configuration support by using your strong technical skills in Linux and Windows environments and IP networking.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, implement, and troubleshoot networks
  • Design and support our network systems and infrastructure
  • Configure and operate routers and switches
  • Monitor network performance and make recommendations based on performance analysis
  • Operate and support network security infrastructure, including firewalls, web proxies, VPN gateways, and load balancers
  • Lead and deliver network security projects
  • Provide on‑call support


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Network Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in network and network security engineering, including operational support and project delivery
  • IT service management certifications (e.g., ITIL)

Nice to have

  • CCNP or CCIE (Security or Enterprise)
  • Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point certifications
  • CISSP or equivalent security certification
  • Bilingual (English and French) - nice to have
