Linux Engineer

Architect, deploy, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 systems across production and development environments.

Automate system provisioning, configuration, and patching using tools like Ansible, Satellite, or similar.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

Implement and maintain security best practices including SELinux, firewalld, and system hardening.

Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to support Linux-based workloads.

Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Participate in on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical Linux-related incidents.

Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing for Linux systems.

Manage system implementations or upgrades as projects arise as well as perform periodic maintenance.

Participate in costing efforts for projects, providing cost and sizing estimates.

5+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering, with at least 2 years focused on RHEL 8/9.

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terriform).

Familiarity with containerization (Podman, Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.

Experience with SAN/NAS storage integration in Linux environments.

Experience in VMWare is required.

Experience in Cloud (Azure) a plus.

Experience with Windows server a plus.
