Scripps is seeking a Senior Manager of Systems Engineering to lead a talented team responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and reliability of our corporate infrastructure. This role offers the unique opportunity to play a pivotal part in our ongoing migration from VMware to KVM-based solutions while ensuring operational excellence across Linux and Windows server environments, virtualization platforms, on-premises datacenter systems, and enterprise storage.

WHATYOU'LLDO:

• Playahands-onroleintheongoingmigrationfromVMwaretoKVM-basedsolutions,includingworkloadassessment,testing,cutoverplanning,andvalidationwhileensuringoperationalcontinuity.
• AdministerandmaintainLinuxserverenvironments(RHEL,CentOS,Ubuntu),includingpatching,hardening,performancemonitoring,andtroubleshooting.
• AdministerandsupportWindowsServerenvironments,includingActiveDirectory,GroupPolicy,DNS,andDHCPwithinahybridLinux/Windowsinfrastructure.
• Manageandmaintainvirtualizationhardwareplatforms,includingserverprovisioning,firmwareupdates,hardwarelifecyclemanagement,andrack/stackoperations.
• Overseeon-premisesdatacenteroperations,includingphysicalinfrastructure,environmentalsystems,andcapacityplanning.
• Manageenterprisestoragesystems,includingprovisioning,monitoring,performanceoptimization,andlifecycleplanning.
• Develop,document,andimplementoperationalprocedures,checklists,andbestpracticesforLinux,Windows,andvirtualizationtechnologies.
• Providementoringtootheradministratorsandengineersontechnicalissues,advancedtools,andemergingvirtualizationtechnologies.
• Assistwithdevelopingtechnologyroadmapsandparticipateintheassessmentoftechnologysolutionstosupportorganizationalneeds.
• Managevendorrelationshipsrelatedtovirtualizationplatforms,Linuxdistributions,andsupportinghardware.
• Developcriteriaforandperformvendorand/orsystemandapplicationselections.
• CoordinateallactivitiesoftheSystemsEngineeringgroupwithallaffectedoperatingunitsandCorporatedepartments.
• Performotherdutiesasassigned.
