Job description

We are seeking a System Engineer Level 3 to lead systems engineering, architecture, and senior level system administration efforts across Linux, VMware, and automated infrastructure. This role analyzes requirements, designs system solutions, develops engineering documentation, and provides technical leadership for integration, testing, and lifecycle management of complex government systems. Key Responsibilities โ€ข Analyze user requirements, CONOPS, and high level architectures; develop detailed system requirements and design specifications.
โ€ข Lead system architecture development, integration planning, feasibility studies, and alternative approach assessments.
โ€ข Prepare and maintain SE documentation: System Engineering Plans, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
โ€ข Manage system and derived requirements to ensure alignment with DoDAF/SOA architectural standards.
โ€ข Coordinate CCB actions, design reviews, program reviews, and test readiness activities.
โ€ข Provide senior technical direction for development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software components.
โ€ข Participate in cross discipline Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities and optimize system performance.
โ€ข Develop verification methods, evaluation criteria, and system integration/test plans.
โ€ข Support risk analysis, configuration management, lifecycle planning, and system baseline integrity.
โ€ข Contribute to JCIDS documentation and certification/accreditation support. Linux, VMware & Ansible Functions
โ€ข Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
โ€ข Manage and optimize VMware virtualization: provisioning VMs, templates, virtual networks, and performance tuning.
โ€ข Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation workflows for provisioning, configuration, patching, and deployment.
โ€ข Support Bash/Python scripting for automation, configuration, and operational tasks.
โ€ข Ensure system reliability through automated configuration management and consistent environment enforcement. Qualifications โ€ข Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (must already be held)
โ€ข IAT Level II (Security+ CE, GSEC, CySA+, CCNA Security, or GICSP)
โ€ข 20+ years of System Engineering experience in similar scope/complexity.
โ€ข Demonstrated experience leading engineering efforts and major system integration activities.
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline (5 years of additional SE experience may substitute).
โ€ข Strong experience with Linux administration, VMware virtualization, and Ansible automation.
