Job description

Hi,

Please review the below job requirement and let me know if you are good to submit with the below details filled and your latest resume ASAP.

Senior Linux Administrator
Location: Dallas, TX

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to support Linux environments used across a large, geographically distributed Point-of-Sale (POS) infrastructure. This is a hands-on role responsible for Linux OS image management, patching, troubleshooting, hardware integration and production support.

Additional notes:
The JPOS is what the ideal candidate will have.  It’s the icing on the cake that will make them stand out.
Must be able to build solid images and keep up to date in a non-manual fashion.
The team is shifting from Windows to more Linux, so that is reason for the need of this resource.
It is going to be onsite, and they are flexible on hours – anytime from 6am – 6pm.
They do expect them to be on-call during evenings, weekends, and sometimes holidays to handle escalations.
There will be a moderate amount of documentation required, but they’ve implemented new AI tools to assist with this.
This team is made up of about 18 people.

Responsibilities:

Create and maintain Linux OS images supporting POS locations worldwide.
Manage ongoing Linux patching for devices deployed in the field.
Troubleshoot escalated Linux/POS issues with technicians across multiple locations.
Work with hardware vendors to ensure JPOS device drivers function properly with current and future hardware.
Support Linux integration with enterprise systems and infrastructure.
Participate in after-hours on-call support for priority production issues.
