Front-End Engineer (San Francisco)

Ivy Invest

San Francisco, CA • On-site

Full-time

Posted 9 days ago

Job description

We’re on a mission to help everyone build wealth like they came from it.

For decades, the best investment portfolios in the world have belonged to institutions: endowments like Yale and Stanford that built diversified exposure to alternatives (private equity, private credit, venture capital, real estate, etc.) and dramatically outperformed traditional stock-and-bond portfolios over time.

Regular people couldn't access this approach. Until now.

Ivy Invest is the first endowment-style investment platform for everyday investors. Our first product is an SEC-registered fund that provides exposure to institutional-quality public & private markets investments. And it’s available to everyone: no accreditation requirements, and just a $1,000 minimum investment.

We’re a small team that moves fast. Our founders have managed multi-billion dollar endowment portfolios and founded multiple companies with 9-figure exits.

The Role

SF or NYC preferred (open to remote)

We’re hiring a front-end engineer to own the user experience across our platform—from the web app where users can manage their investments, to the marketing pages where we explain endowment investing to first-time investors, to the onboarding flows that make opening an account feel simple and trustworthy.

You'll be one of the first engineering hires, which means:

  • High ownership: You’ll make architectural decisions and shape our technical direction
  • Broad scope: You’ll build everything from dashboards to conversion-optimized landing pages to secure account opening flows
  • Direct impact: Your work will directly influence whether people trust us with their savings
  • Fast iteration: You’ll ship daily, learn from real users, and iterate quickly

This role is perfect for someone who wants to build something from near‑zero, cares deeply about craft and user experience, and thrives in an environment with minimal process and maximum autonomy.

You

Must-haves:

  • 3+ years of experience building production web applications
  • Strong intuition for UI/UX—you know when something feels off and how to fix it
  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions without extensive direction
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship

Nice‑To‑haves:

  • Experience at early‑stage startups (especially 0→1 products)
  • Experience building consumer and/or fintech products
  • Design chops—comfortable in Figma or able to implement designs from rough mocks
Comp

Market-competitive salary with equity.
