Job Description:
LinkedIn is seeking a Distinguished Engineer with deep expertise in Data Infrastructure, Platforms, and AI to provide technical leadership for the Data Infrastructure organization. The Data Infrastructure team delivers the specialized infrastructure required to run LinkedIn's products, AI training and inference, business metrics and observability with high availability, scale and optimal performance. This leader will leverage their broad infrastructure knowledge to drive innovation, optimize performance, and enable superior user experiences that increase productivity and customer engagement.
Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of LinkedIn's infrastructure, particularly focusing on Data Infrastructure, but also partner infrastructure in our Core and AI teams to provide domain expertise and thought leadership.
Lead and facilitate cross-functional technical discussions to align product and technology strategies, emphasizing developer productivity while meeting scale, performance, and efficiency requirements.
Establish and advocate for best practices, design patterns, and quality standards for scalable batch and nearline processing, policy enforcement, data quality
Identify and address gaps in the current infrastructure by recommending and implementing migration strategies for legacy systems
Work closely with infrastructure users to understand user experience and set the vision and technical direction to improve usability
Mentor and guide senior engineering talent, fostering a culture of craftsmanship, innovation, and technical excellence
Help drive an understanding of AI and a culture of AI adoption for development and in our systems
