Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Solution Architect / Engineer. This resource is responsible for working across the entire Cloud Services organization and ensuring cloud solutions are implemented as specified.
The position is responsible for:
  • Provide technical leadership for one or more of the following domains: Business Architecture, Application/Software Architecture, Database Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, and Security Architecture.
  • Responsible for finding opportunities to improve architecture using cloud and cloud-native technologies.
  • Hands-on abilities to build MVP (Minimal Viable Product) technology solutions in the cloud.
  • Prior experience in digital transformation for large complex applications.
  • Provides assessment of current state technology architecture and recommendation of future state technology architecture.
  • Identifies architectural risks and plans to mitigate risks, ensures adherence to standards and best practices, and influences and communicates effectively with non-technical audiences including senior ITD and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Software Development teams, Product Managers, and Business Owners to ensure smooth deployment and operation of systems.
  • Guide/Build CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of both large and small-scale systems.
  • Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations.
  • Develop Cloud Operation Framework, and roles and responsibilities for each category in the framework.
  • Automate tools to monitor system health and reliability to support business process requirements and troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
  • Communicate status and risks to the product teams and help automate and streamline operations and processes.
  • Ensure solution designs and implementation meet architecture quality standards.
  • Guide Solution Architects / Tech Leads to ensure that application and integration architecture aligns with system design guidelines and enterprise architecture standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Competencies:
  • Active status as an AWS Certified Architect (DevOps or Architect preferred).

  • Knowledge of CI/CD (Jenkins, TravisCI, CircleCI, AppVeyor, etc) is required.
  • Working experience with one of more automation tools and repositories such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, CHEF, TeamCity, Artifactory, SVN, and Bitbucket.
  • Working experience with cloud-native tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, ELB, Autoscaling, and EC2.
  • Good understanding of VPCs, Subnet configuration, route table, Internet gateway, VPC peering, Transit gateway, VPC Link, etc.
  • AWS - Amazon Web Services Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate.
  • Active certification status on any cloud providers: AWS/GCP/Azure Solution Architect (preferred).

Minimum Education and Experience:
