Job description

Team Net Medical is seeking a motivated Medical Physicist Trainee in Virginia to join our radiation oncology team and gain supervised clinical experience in medical physics, quality assurance, radiation safety, treatment planning support, and day-to-day department operations.

  • Assist with daily, monthly, and annual linear accelerator QA under supervision.
  • Support patient-specific QA for IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, and SRS treatments.
  • Assist with chart checks, physics documentation, and treatment plan review workflows.
  • Participate in machine output checks, imaging QA, and equipment performance testing.
  • Support commissioning, acceptance testing, and clinical implementation projects as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate QA records, logs, and documentation in accordance with department protocols.
  • Assist with radiation safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and survey readiness.
  • Observe and support HDR, brachytherapy, special procedures, and advanced treatment workflows where applicable.
  • Work collaboratively with physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, radiation oncologists, and administrative leadership.
  • Complete assigned training modules, competencies, and supervised clinical tasks.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, attention to detail, and a commitment to developing clinical expertise in radiation oncology medical physics.

  • Masterโ€™s degree in medical physics, physics, or related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a clinical environment with attention to accuracy, safety, and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn under direct supervision.Prior radiation oncology, dosimetry, QA, or treatment planning exposure preferred but not required.
  • Interest in pursuingย long-term advancement as a clinical medical physicist.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with linear accelerator QA, treatment planning systems, imaging systems, or radiation oncology workflows.
