The AWS Global Accelerator is a Software Defined Networking service which improves network performance for a range of products including AAA video games, video streaming platforms, VOIP, Education and technology platforms, and social media applications. Our technology powers features for AWS services such as S3 and AWS VPN.
Our collaborative and inclusive team is looking for experienced, passionate, full-stack software development engineers. As a member of the Global Accelerator team, you will be creating new features for our globally distributed network offering running in 29 AWS Commercial regions today

You will have opportunities to engage with AWS customers, engage with other AWS service owners, propose and document new ideas to the team, and best of all develop and deliver new features to the delight of our customers.
If you are passionate about distributed systems, writing clean code, constant learning, and invigorated to work on a platform that runs critical internet workloads for AWS and its customers you should apply for this role. You will become an important part of running our global software defined networking service and learn what it takes to grow and operate a global business as AWS scale.
As part of the AWS Global Accelerator team, you will:
- Own defining, scoping, designing, developing and shipping features for a highly impactful AWS service.
- Make critical design decisions that impact across various AWS services.
- Learn what it takes to grow and operate a global business at large scale.
Key job responsibilities
- Design for new systems from scratch or improving existing systems and own the technical direction for the initiative from start to finish.
- Mentor and guide the team members to solve complex problems with simple solutions.
- Drive the big ideas to improve availability and performance of AGA Control Plane - Public facing APIs, provisioning workflows and integration with other AWS services.
- Develop high quality testable and maintainable software and participate in code reviews.
About the team
AWS Global Accelerator Control Plane team owns defining, designing and maintaining all the customer facing and internal APIs for the AWS Global Accelerator service. We manage our customer defined configuration and securely synchronize their configuration data around the world in seconds to ensure their applications are always responsive.
