Location: Farewell, MI
Shift: 1st shift
Pay: $16.50 per hour
 
Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Sewer to join our team in Farewell, MI. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping us to thrive in a production environment, taking pride in leading and producing custom set-ups and orders in a sewing department.
 
What You'll Be Doing
As a Sewer, your core responsibilities will include:
 
  * Operating Sewing Machinery: Safely and accurately use various sewing machines to join or reinforce materials, including proper threading and setup.
  * Custom Production & Quality: Lead and execute custom set-ups and orders, detect and correct defective stitching, and custom-fit parts with minor flaws to ensure top-quality final products.
  * Material & Equipment Management: Layout and set-up patterns with minimal waste, operate specialized equipment like the Gerber cutter, grommet machine, hydraulic press, and hot knife, and perform minor machine maintenance.
 
In addition, you will also be expected to ensure quality, efficient production, and manage materials to minimize waste.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
 
Qualifications:
 
  * High school diploma or equivalent desired.
  * Agility of the upper and lower body extremities, and capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly.
 
Skills:
 
  * Versatility and Technical Skill: Ability to be versatile in operating different sewing machines and performing minor maintenance to maximize uptime and production efficiency.
  * Attention to Detail and Quality: Critical for choosing appropriate thread color/material and detecting defective stitching to meet high standards.
