ROLE OVERVIEW:

This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round.

This position is responsible for moving freight, stock, or other materials over short distances from railcars to trucks.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)                                                               

  1. Uses safe work procedures that comply with safety policies and regulations.
  2. Move freight, stock and other materials by hand or by using heavy equipment. Drive vehicles or operate machines or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers in a safe and efficient manner while complying with all federal, state, local and company policies.
  3. Assist in performing or scheduling repairs or preventive maintenance of vehicles or other equipment. Sometimes performing these at elevated platforms with heavy tools.
  4. Load or unload railcars or trucks by operating heavy equipment and/or hand tools.
  5. Unloads and inspects incoming materials and verifies receipts.
  6. Keeps records of materials received.
  7. Keeps facility yard clean and organized.
  8. Maintain & clean vehicles, machinery and other equipment and recommends safety improvements.
  9. Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)As a successful Rail Material Handler, you will have:

  1. High School diploma or General Education Degree, or equivalent experience.
  2. Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
  3. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays
