Job description

Position: Senior Dietary Aide
Facility Address: Post Falls, ID 83854
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3+ Months
Position Summary
The Senior Dietary Aide supports meal preparation, tray-line service, dietary-order compliance, kitchen cleanup, and general food-service operations. The role is ideal for a candidate who is detail-oriented, comfortable in a busy kitchen, and able to follow portion, sanitation, and special-diet instructions accurately.
Key Responsibilities :
  • Dish appropriate food portions and serve meals on the tray line.
  • Prepare breakfast items, including toast.
  • Complete meal-preparation tasks such as chopping, cleaning, and slicing vegetables.
  • Prepare nourishments in accordance with diet orders.
  • Garnish food items and puree food for tray-line service as needed.
  • Assist with tray-line cleanup, dining-room clearing, and cleaning food-service equipment.
  • Clean diet cards and reset trays for meal service.
  • Help cover cook-related duties, including preparing salads and desserts, assisting with meal preparation, and completing next-day prep work.
  • Follow food-safety, sanitation, portion-control, and special-diet procedures.
  • Perform other food-service duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Prior dietary aide, kitchen aide, food-service, restaurant, cafeteria, healthcare, senior living, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to accurately follow diet cards, food portions, and meal-service instructions.
  • Familiarity with food preparation, basic knife skills, sanitation, and kitchen safety.
  • Experience with tray-line service and/or modified diets is a plus.
  • Reliable attendance, strong attention to detail, and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working around hot food and equipment, cleaning chemicals, odors, and wet floors.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push/pull carts, and use hands repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently move items up to 25 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.; and rarely up to 75 lbs.
