DESCRIPTION
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items with consistency, speed, and precision while maintaining Ugly Dumpling's high standards for food quality and presentation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring guest satisfaction by delivering excellent food every time.
Duties & Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items following Ugly Dumpling's recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation during service.
  • Monitor food quality and freshness to ensure every dish meets company standards.
  • Assist with prep work, including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and health guidelines to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, including woks, steamers, grills, and fryers, safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
  • Handle special requests or modifications as directed by the Culinary Manager or Corporate Chef.
  • Support other team members during high-volume shifts to maintain smooth operations.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings to review specials, changes, or operational updates.
  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties, including cleaning, restocking, and organizing supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • 2+ years of experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment and techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Team player with strong communication and time-management skills.
