Job description

We are looking for a full-time, year-round, 1st shift, Bag Line Operator for our packing line.  We offer fantastic benefits including competitive pay, medical and dental insurance, paid vacation, and overtime pay.   


We are a family-owned company who prides ourselves in our top-quality landscape products as well as our excellent customer service. Located in Zeeland, we focus on protecting the environment by recycling wood products to create reusable organic products and avoid landfill usage. We service a wide variety of customers throughout Michigan.


As a Bag Line Operator, some responsibilities include:


  • Support production by working with loader operators, and supplying materials as needed (e.g. raw materials, pallets, bags)
  • Responsible for daily and routine clean-up around the machinery to ensure consistent and predictable operation
  • Troubleshooting problems with machinery and partner with the assistance of maintenance to resolve issues (e.g. line down time, product quality)
  • Participating in start-up, change over and shut down of operating equipment
  • Performing clean, inspect, and lubricate tasks on equipment, as necessary per our site requirements
  • Performing change overs including disassembly and reassembly of necessary equipment, adjustments, and calibrations
  • Following all safety guidelines and regulations
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to increase process efficiency

What you’ll need to be successful as a Bag Line Operator:


  • Machine, Bagger, or Conveyor troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or equipment repair
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces and lifting at least 50 lbs
  • Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and methods
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and problem-solving skills
  • Prior forklift experience preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, flexibility and customer service attitude
