About Generations Family Health Center: Generations Family Health Center is a regional community health center serving a 37-town rural region in eastern Connecticut, with locations in Willimantic, Danielson, Norwich, and Putnam. Our dedicated staff provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including medical, dental, and behavioral health care, as well as care coordination and community outreach. In addition to our main facilities, we offer mobile programs and School-Based Health Centers.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of clinical support services within the assigned medical practice. Reporting administratively to the Director of Primary Care Operations and working in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, the position provides administrative and operational leadership for assigned clinical support staff while overseeing clinical workflows, staffing, patient flow, clinician support, operational readiness, and clinical resource utilization to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
The Clinical Operations Manager is accountable for the operational performance of the clinical care environment and implementation of organizational clinical operational standards, professional nursing standards, and clinical practice initiatives established by organizational leadership. The position works collaboratively with the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Regional RN Lead, Practice Manager, clinicians, and other organizational leaders to improve clinical operations, quality, safety, access, and organizational performance.
The Clinical Operations Manager provides administrative and operational leadership for assigned clinical support staff and is responsible for workforce management, workflow execution, operational performance, and employee development. Professional nursing practice, nursing standards, clinical competencies, scope of practice, and nursing education remain under the direction of the Director of Nursing. The Clinical Operations Manager partners closely with the Practice Manager to ensure seamless coordination between clinical and administrative operations while maintaining clearly defined areas of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Clinical Operations Manager provides administrative and operational leadership for assigned clinical support personnel and is accountable for the day-to-day management of clinical operations, including staffing, workflow execution, patient flow, clinician support, operational performance, and clinical resource utilization.
The position exercises independent judgment in managing daily operations and is responsible for workforce management, employee development, performance management, and operational execution in accordance with GFHC policies and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
The Clinical Operations Manager collaborates with the Director of Nursing and Regional RN Lead to support implementation of professional nursing standards and competency programs. Accountability for professional nursing practice, nursing standards, scope of practice, clinical competency, and nursing education remains with the Director of Nursing.
Salary: $85,000+ (commensurate with experience)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current unrestricted Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in ambulatory care, primary care, or community health
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience leading clinical support staff
  • Current BLS certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related healthcare field
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center
  • Experience with HRSA Health Center Program requirements
  • Experience with Joint Commission accreditation standards
  • Experience implementing standardized clinical workflows
  • Bilingual (English - Spanish based on patient population)
