Overview
Video Editor (DTRA PAO)
Bowhead is seeking a Video Editor for the upcoming DTRA PAO contract in Fort Belvoir, VA. In this role, you will plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video products-including training videos, command messages, and mission support content-that align with DTRA's strategic communication goals and DoD Visual Information standards.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble raw footage, dialogue, sound effects, and graphics into a cohesive finished product matching the Senior Producer's vision and storyboard
  • Execute precise cuts, sequence arrangements, and transitions for logical pacing and visual continuity
  • Perform color correction, color grading, audio leveling, background noise reduction, and voiceover/music synchronization
  • Ingest, log, transcode, and back up raw footage; organize project files using established naming conventions and server structures
  • Incorporate lower-thirds, B-roll footage, motion graphics, and visual effects in line with agency branding guidelines
  • Export and encode final video files for distribution channels (DVIDS, social media, command presentations)
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards, including accurate closed captioning
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Digital Media, Multimedia Production, or related field
  • 5-10 years professional post-production editing experience
  • Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder, Audition
  • Experience with color grading, sound mixing, motion graphics, and transitions
  • Ability to manage media assets using structured naming conventions and secure storage
  • Familiarity with Section 508 captioning and accessibility requirements
  • Knowledge of DoD multimedia compliance standards
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
Target salary is $90,000- $120,000 commensurate with experience
