In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including utility electrical systems, power distribution systems, overhead line systems, and electrical transformers. Your expertise in electrical diagnostics, blueprint reading, and safety procedures will ensure the reliable operation of energy and utility infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on power line construction projects, utilizing your climbing, bucket operation, and rigging skills to deliver top-tier service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair high-voltage electrical wiring and utility electrical systems in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety procedures for high-voltage work.
  • Conduct electrical diagnostics using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to identify faults in power distribution systems and relay testing.
  • Perform cabling tasks including underground and overhead line installation, ensuring proper rigging and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Operate bucket trucks safely for overhead line work, tree trimming, and access to elevated structures while following all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
  • Read blueprints and electrical schematics accurately to guide installation and maintenance activities on complex electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Engage in electrical field testing to verify system integrity, including testing high-voltage electrical systems and conducting outdoor work on construction sites.
  • Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including safety procedures followed, equipment used, and system diagnostics for compliance and reporting purposes.

Requirements
  • Proven experience working as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong background in electrical diagnostics, wiring, and maintenance of utility systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in rigging, welding, climbing, bucket operation, and the use of tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage electrical wiring, relay testing, electrical blueprint reading, and NEC standards related to power line construction projects.
  • Experience working outdoors on energy & utilities sector projects involving overhead line systems, electrical transformers, power distribution systems, and utility locating.
  • Ability to operate bucket trucks safely while adhering to all safety procedures for high-voltage work; familiarity with tree trimming is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures including PPE use when working with high-voltage systems at outdoor sites.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform electrical troubleshooting using diagnostic tools like voltmeters and ohmmeters.
  • Valid certifications in electrical work; experience working with low voltage as well as high voltage systems is preferred.
  • Physical ability to climb structures regularly; comfortable working at heights using climbing techniques or bucket trucks on construction sites or utility projects.
  • Prior experience in the energy & utilities sector is highly desirable; familiarity with utility electrical systems and power line construction is essential.
