Job description

Schroeder Associates

Manufacturers’ Representative – Industrial Sales

Wisconsin • Illinois • Indiana • Missouri • Iowa

www.schroederassoc.com

Remote | Home Office | Established Territory

Build Relationships. Represent Industry-Leading Manufacturers. Help Customers Build Better Products.

Schroeder Associates is one of the Midwest’s leading manufacturers’ representative agencies. Headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, we’ve spent over 50 years helping OEM manufacturers and industrial distributors source quality manufactured products and custom fabricated components from industry-leading manufacturing partners.

Representing multiple complementary manufacturers allows us to provide customers with broader product solutions than any single manufacturer can offer. Our established territories serve more than 700 active OEM and distributor customers throughout the Midwest and Canada, creating long-term opportunities built on relationships, technical knowledge, and responsive service.

We’re looking for an experienced Manufacturers’ Representative – Industrial Sales to manage an established territory covering Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Iowa.

If you’re the type of professional who enjoys being on the road, meeting customers face-to-face, learning how products are manufactured, and helping customers solve real manufacturing challenges, you’ll feel right at home here.

What You’ll Do

Approximately 75% of your time will be focused on strengthening and expanding existing customer relationships, while 25% will be dedicated to developing new business opportunities.

You’ll regularly work with:

· Purchasing Managers

· Engineers

· Sales Teams

· Operations & Quality Personnel

· Executive Leadership

Your responsibilities will include:

· Grow business within an established customer base.

· Identify and develop new OEM and industrial distributor opportunities.

· Learn customers’ manufacturing processes and recommend product solutions from our manufacturing partners.

· Build lasting relationships through regular onsite customer visits.

· Develop and maintain an organized territory travel schedule.

· Follow up on quotations, projects, and customer opportunities.

· Research prospective customers and generate qualified leads.

· Document customer activity and manage opportunities using HubSpot CRM.

· Work closely with management and our inside support staff to deliver exceptional customer service.

· Stay informed on manufacturing trends, industry developments, and emerging opportunities.

This Career Is for You If...

· You enjoy being on the road and meeting customers face-to-face.

· You’re naturally self-motivated and don’t need someone looking over your shoulder to stay productive.

· You enjoy the challenge of uncovering new opportunities while growing long-term customer relationships.

· You like learning how products are manufactured and helping customers find practical solutions.

· You’re organized, disciplined, and capable of managing your own schedule and priorities.

· You follow through on commitments and understand that responsiveness builds trust.

· You thrive in an environment where your initiative and effort directly impact your success.

· You prefer the freedom of managing your own territory over spending your days in a traditional office.

What We’re Looking For

Preferred qualifications include:

· 3–5+ years of experience in industrial sales, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, or a related field.

· Experience working with OEM manufacturers or industrial distributors is preferred.

· Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and industrial products.

· Mechanical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new product lines.

· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

· Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.

· Exceptional organization and time-management skills.

· Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and competitive drive.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Candidates should ideally reside in a reasonably central location within the territory, allowing efficient travel throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Iowa. Overnight travel typically averages 4–8 nights per month, depending on where you choose to live within the territory.

Why Join Schroeder Associates?

Unlike many industrial sales positions, you’ll inherit an established territory with an existing customer base while still having significant opportunity to grow your income through new business development.

You’ll also benefit from:

· Over 50 years of reputation and trusted customer relationships.

· The opportunity to represent multiple respected manufacturing partners instead of a single product line.

· A high level of autonomy to manage your territory and schedule.

· HubSpot CRM and dedicated inside support staff, allowing you to spend more time serving customers and growing your territory.

· The flexibility of working from your home office.

· Long-term career growth with a stable company that has been serving manufacturers for over 50 years.

Compensation & Benefits

· Competitive Base Salary

· Performance-Based Commission

· Total Compensation Opportunity: $100,000–$125,000+

· Profit Sharing

· Medical, Vision & Disability Insurance

· Vehicle Allowance

· Business Expense Reimbursement

· Home Office Support

· Paid Time Off
