Functional area: Project Management
Remuneration: Exempt

The Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for managing all activities required to deliver successful energy efficiency, distributed energy, and other design build projects to customers. Projects include Investment Grade Audits, assessments, infrastructure construction, mechanical/electrical/plumbing implementation contracts, conceptual engineering design, forensic engineering evaluations, and system/building commissioning. This senior member will manage customer, project-related strategic alliances and subcontractor relationships and provide in-house support to the development, engineering, and construction groups.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and manage project support services including but not limited to project design, budgeting, and scheduling; pre-qualification, selection and management of contractors, subcontractors, and equipment vendors
  • Development and structureย project-related contracts; maintaining close contact with the customer; and production of customer deliverables
  • Manage phases of construction and performance contracts including maintain or enhance customer satisfaction; collaborate with engineering, development and project management teams in conducting design optimization and value engineering of energy projects
  • Conduct constructability reviews; perform cost estimating and purchasing functions; manage field-related project planning, scheduling and quality control; coordinate field construction project management; direct construction contract administration and risk management activities
  • Manage budgets, schedules, invoicing and other contract requirements

Job Requirements and Experiences:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction/project management or related degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing and implementing a range of energy and MEP design build related projects, including MEP construction and lighting projects.
  • Previous budget/schedule/performance/quality responsibility.
  • Specific experience with building energy systems and controls including commissioning of HVAC, Central Utilities and Electrical Systems.
  • Experience in the overall integration of design engineering, construction, start-up/turnover, and subsequent O&M of energy projects.
  • Prior HVAC, Electrical or EMCS design experience is a plus
  • Expertise in codes, permitting, and union issues
  • Sound and proven construction management and project management skills
  • Strong contract administration and construction risk management skills
  • Strong leadership, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to represent the company
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, MS Project, and Word. Experience with ProCore is a plus
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Up to 30% travel may be required
  • Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.)
  • Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day
  • Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites assigned
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships

Pay range:
The annual base salary range for this position inย  New Yorkย is $138,000 - 180,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.

Location: Please note that these roles are currently expected to be in-office hybrid positions based in Austin, Chicago, or White Plains, as those are the team's primary locations, unless a different location is specified in the job posting.
