Experienced LIGHTING Business Development Manager

The Client: Our client is a lighting manufacturer specializing in cutting-edge LED lighting solutions and advanced control products. Their innovative designs and high-quality products are trusted across a wide array of industries, from commercial and industrial to retail applications. The company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to lead the sales efforts and expand their market presence. Role Overview: The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, and driving the adoption of our LED lighting and control products. This position requires a dynamic professional with a deep understanding of the lighting industry, particularly LED technologies, and existing client relationships, who can strategically lead initiatives to accelerate growth and increase market share.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • The position reports to the General Manager.
  • Create relationships with C-level decision-makers at targeted strategic accounts.
  • Initiate and nurture customer relationships, emphasizing the company's capabilities through networking, cold calls, and direct visits.
  • Formulate and execute a business plan with targeted customers and revenue estimates.
  • Identify and create a robust pipeline.
  • Convert pipeline opportunities into new business.
  • Log all communications, calls, and action items into the company CRM.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department for effective campaigns, materials, and lead generations.
  • Stay updated with market competitors, trends, technologies, and regulations.
  • Attend weekly meetings to update on opportunity progress.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience in business development within the lighting or controls industry, with a strong track record of sales success.
  • Strong B2B sales experience emphasizing personal networking and lead generation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop relationships at all levels, from C-suite executives to contractors and design professionals.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet clients, attend industry events, and support business development activities.
  • Proficiency in consultative selling techniques.
