Position Summary

The Lead Controls Solutions Specialist serves as the highest-level technical authority for lighting controls within the organization. This role leads complex and strategic projects, provides cross-functional leadership, and is responsible for field support and/or commissioning assistance when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical expert for lighting control systems and applications.
  • Lead design strategy and execution for large, complex, or high-profile projects.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to all Controls Solutions Specialists.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership on project strategy and opportunity development.
  • Review and approve complex system designs, quotations, and documentation.
  • Act as escalation point for advanced technical and project issues.
  • Lead coordination with manufacturers and key partners.
  • Provide on-site field support, commissioning assistance, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Develop and deliver advanced training programs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in controls processes, standards, and tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in lighting controls or building systems.
  • Expert-level knowledge of lighting controls, system integration, and energy codes.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Strong communication, project management, and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced technical proficiency with controls platforms and documentation tools.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to travel to job sites for field support.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Proof of current auto insurance must be maintained and provided to the company.
