About This Role
Experienced Journeyman Commercial Electrician needed in Surprise, AZ. This role requires 10+ years of construction electrical experience installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and institutional electrical systems to code and project specifications. Pay range is $25-$38/hr depending on experience and skills. You'll work on active commercial and institutional job sites, read blueprints and schematics, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate directly with superintendents, project managers, engineers, and other trades. Safety, reliability, and good customer communication are essential.
What You'll Do
  • Install, maintain, and repair commercial and institutional electrical systems to code and project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to lay out and install electrical work accurately.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using meter/testing equipment; repair circuits, breakers, panels, lighting, and controls.
  • Install and program lighting controls, low-voltage systems, and overcurrent devices; perform standby and emergency system work.
  • Coordinate daily with superintendents, project managers, engineers, and other trades to meet schedules and quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area, follow site safety procedures, and document work and inspections as required.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of commercial construction electrical experience on medium to large projects.
  • Strong blueprint and technical drawing reading skills; able to follow schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with distribution equipment, panels, lighting, controls, and low-voltage systems.
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites, lifting tools/materials, and using power and hand tools safely.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites; strong communication skills and ability to work with project teams and customers.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years construction electrical experience (required)
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation
  • OSHA 30 (preferred) and OSHA 10
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Scissor Lift Operator and HAZWOPER 8-hour (preferred)
  • English and Spanish language skills (preferred)
  • State journeyman/master electrician license preferred but not required
