Controller# ControllerHot Job## OverviewSalary Range$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 Salary/year## DescriptionThe Controller position is responsible for all financial matters and functions of TCAB and its organizations. The position will report to and work closely with the President/CEO. In addition, s/he will partner with the senior leadership to develop and implement strategies across the organization. The position will oversee all compliance and recognition for government (federal and state) contracts and private grants. S/he must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace while managing a staff of three or more individual performers.**Duties/Responsibilities*** Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.* Oversees the production of monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.* Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.* Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.* Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.* Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.* Files quarterly and annual reports with the state and federal CNAs.* Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.* Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.**Supervisory Responsibilities:*** Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, purchasing and production planning, fixed asset management, pricing model maintenance, ERP software and Chart of Accounts management, inventory control, budgeting, and financial reporting.* Oversees training programs and identifies training needs for direct reports.## Qualifications**Required Skills/Abilities:*** Excellent management and supervisory skills.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Excellent organizational and time management skills.* Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.* Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics, Office Suite, or similar software.**Education and Experience*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.* Ten years or more of related experience is required.* Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.**Work Environment*** Climate-controlled office environment* Professional office environment* Occasional exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of automated equipment is in use* Moderate noise level**Physical Requirements*** Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.* Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.* Viewing of computer monitor and repetitive motion on the keyboard and calculator.* Able to travel as needed.**Travel/Transportation**Team members must have reliable transportation to and from the Lighthouse within the required open and close times.**Pay Rate**Commensurate with market and job level or experience**Employment Classification**Full-time, salaried, non-exempt**Office Hours**7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.Occasional Fridays and weekends as needed and occasional overtime at the request of the supervisor only.**Organization:**The mission of Tarrant County Association for the Blind (TCAB) dba Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth, a Texas nonprofit corporation, is to provide services to assist legally blind individuals to achieve their highest level of personal and economic self-sufficiency consistent with their specific skills, general abilities, and interests.TCAB provides employment opportunities for over 100 individuals who are blind and serves more than 3,000 people who are blind in Tarrant and surrounding counties annually and has a total revenue budget of more than $12 million.
