Physical Therapy Assistant - Physical Therapy
Job Details:
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No holiday expectations
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; will accept acute care, SNF, LTC, or rehab experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Average caseload of 7-8 patients per day per therapist
• Treat primarily geriatric patients with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, hip fracture, total joints, CABG, stroke, Parkinson's, medically complex conditions, debility, respiratory failure, and spinal and abdominal surgeries
• Required skills include transfer training, gait training, home management, discharge planning, thorough documentation, team collaboration, clinical judgment, and therapeutic exercise
• EMR system: EPIC
• Unit-specific equipment includes Hoyer lift, Hoyer Journey, modality tower, Bio Step, Motomed, parallel bars, car simulator, kitchen, practice tub, and washer and dryer
• Required certifications: BLS and State PTA license
• Associates degree or above required
• Scrub color: Light Gray

Facility:
This facility is a 25-bed Level IV Trauma Center and Chest Pain Center providing comprehensive inpatient care. The unit is supported by CNAs, a Health Unit Coordinator, charge RN, phlebotomy services, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and hospitalist coverage 24/7. The department fosters a collaborative team culture with nursing staff described as helpful and willing to support one another. Orientation includes a new employee orientation program followed by 5 shifts of unit-specific orientation.
