Key Responsibilities:

Advanced & Automated Assembly:

  • Set up and operate or semi-automated assembly equipment (e.g., automated fastening systems, or computer-controlled torque systems).
  • Perform complex, multi-tier mechanical assemblies requiring tight tolerances, intricate internal components, and precise alignments

Pressure, Flow, and Leak Testing

  • Hydrostatic & Pneumatic Pressure Testing: Set up and safely operate high-pressure test benches to verify structural integrity and proof-pressure limits
  • Flow Testing: Connect and execute fluid/airflow testing to validate that components meet specific volumetric or mass flow-rate requirements
  • Helium Leak Testing: Operate specialized Helium mass spectrometer leak detectors. Perform hard-vacuum or sniffing testing techniques to detect micro-leaks to strict aerospace leak-rate specifications

Inspection & Quality Control

  • Interpret complex aerospace blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings
  • Review and validate data logs from automated test equipment to ensure compliance with acceptance criteria

Process Control & Efficiency

  • Monitor test fluid cleanliness, system pressures, and gas supplies (Helium/Nitrogen), proactively replacing filters or culinders to prevent downtime
  • Maintain cycle-time awareness, tracking actual assembly and test times against standards to optimize throughout
  • Stage and manage production flow using the ERP system, ensuring immediate transition between assembly and testing cells

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

  • Diagnose and resolve common test stand alarms, fixture leaks, and assembly
  • Perform routine maintenance and daily calibration verification on test benches, gauges

Mentorship

  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to mentor and train Assembly teammates on proper mechanical techniques, equipment operation, and safety
Requirements:
  • Experience with finite assembly
  • Experience with conducting pressure, flow, and leak testing
