Lifeguard

About the Role:

The Swim Instructor Lifeguard plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants in aquatic activities while also providing high-quality instruction in swimming and water safety. This position requires a balance of vigilance and teaching ability, as the instructor/lifeguard will monitor the pool area for any potential hazards while simultaneously leading lessons for individuals or groups. The ultimate goal is to foster a safe and enjoyable environment where participants can learn essential swimming skills and water safety practices. Additionally, the Instructor/Lifeguard will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the aquatic facility. This role is vital in promoting a culture of safety and health within the community through effective education and supervision. CP offer training for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching swimming lessons.
  • Additional certifications in water safety or coaching.
  • Experience working with diverse age groups and abilities.
  • Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the safety of all pool users and enforce facility rules and regulations.
  • Provide swimming instruction to individuals and groups of varying skill levels.
  • Perform rescues and administer first aid or CPR as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and equipment.
