THE ORGANIZATION

A private nonprofit organization founded in 1973, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) is a large agency that is part of the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) nationwide network. Founded as a result of the federal Older Americans Act, the AAAs are mandated to "facilitate the area-wide development and implementation of a comprehensive, coordinated system for providing long-term care in home and community-based settings, in a manner responsive to the needs and preferences of older individuals and their family caregivers." PCA carries out this mission through advocacy, stewardship of public funding, planning, development and administration of programs, and service coordination.


The mission of PCA is to improve the quality of life for older Philadelphians and those with disabilities and assist them in achieving the greatest possible levels of health, independence, and productivity.

Requirements

Description of Role: Under the direction of the Center Director this part-time position is responsible for maintaining and reporting accurate information related to senior center and transportation services.


Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with two years of related work experience. Interest and/or experience in aging services.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an office environment, including proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to communicate with professional staff both in the center and the outside network.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills (in person and over the phone) with various constituents including Center members, community partners, and staff.
  • Ability to effectively utilize technology, and learn new systems, such as data tracking systems (Copilot), Office 365 and associated systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Using the vendor portal, schedule rides for groups or individuals requiring Shared Ride transportation who qualify for our funding source.
  2. Reconcile and provide monthly report for Shared Ride services.
  3. Schedule local trips for center participants via the vendor portal.
  4. Maintain transportation data and enter required information in Copilot reporting system.
  5. Assist in the maintenance of consumer membership records.
  6. Enter participant attendance information in Copilot reporting system for services not captured by touch screen data entry.
  7. Maintain statistical information for assigned programs including running reports in Copilot as requested by the Center Director.
  8. Provide coverage for the Front Desk and Kitchen as needed.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
