Job description

Toolcraft Machining, Inc. is seeking skilled 5-Axis Machinists to join our team, at our facility in Germantown, WI.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Ability to set up and operate any of the following machines:
  2. DMU 125 Duo-block
  3. 5-Axis Machines (Mill/Turn) – DMG Mori with Siemens control
  4. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, models, routing instructions, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  5. Determine tooling requirements, setup procedures and control settings.
  6. Set up CNC machine with setup blocks, fixtures, clamps, or any other necessary devices to receive and hold parts/components for safe machining operation.
  7. Monitor and/or develop speed, feed, depth, or angle of cut during machining operations.
  8. Enter program commands within machine controller or retrieve preprogrammed code.
  9. Monitor machine to change cutting tools/inserts as required.
  10. Measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications (.002 or potentially tighter tolerance) and GD&T.
  11. Manually adjust machine controls to prevent out-of-tolerance machining.
  12. Monitor and maintain proper cleanliness of machine and work area daily.


Essential Job Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years of experience setting up and running 5-Axis machines
  2. 5+ years of experience in CNC machining
  3. Proficient in GD&T, Blueprint reading, and G-Code
  4. Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds


Preferred Not Required:

  1. Experience with Mastercam programming and editing.
  2. Experience with Powermill programming and editing.
  3. Previous experience working in a “job shop” (low quantities/highly technical pieces)
  4. Experience operating overhead cranes and hoists.


Job Type:

  1. Full time – 1st Shift
  2. Hourly – Non-Exempt
  3. $4,000 retention bonus paid over the first year
