What is a licensed financial representative?

A Licensed Financial Representative is a professional who is authorized to provide clients with financial advice, recommend investment products, and help manage their financial portfolios. They are required to obtain specific licenses, such as FINRA Series 6 or 7, depending on the services they offer. These representatives may work for banks, investment firms, or insurance companies, assisting individuals and businesses in making informed financial decisions. Their responsibilities include assessing client needs, explaining investment options, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

What are some typical challenges faced by licensed financial representatives when building a client base, and how are these addressed within most firms?

Licensed Financial Representatives often encounter challenges in establishing and growing a strong client base, especially early in their careers. This process requires perseverance, proactive networking, and consistent follow-up with potential clients. About Amplify

Amplify is transforming how families build wealth through life insurance. We are the first direct-to-consumer platform focused on helping clients leverage life insurance as both a protection and wealth-building vehicle. Through innovative technology and expert guidance, we make sophisticated financial strategies accessible, understandable, and actionable.

Our mission is simple: create value for our customers while they are alive and well. We believe life insurance should do more than provide a death benefit-it should help families grow, protect, and access wealth throughout their lives.

Backed by leading venture capital firms, Amplify is modernizing the life insurance industry and building the future of financial protection and wealth accumulation.

About the Role

As a Financial Representative, you will serve as a trusted advisor to individuals and families seeking life insurance and wealth-building solutions. You will engage with qualified leads provided by Amplify, conduct consultative sales conversations, and guide clients through the entire sales process from initial discovery through policy delivery and activation.

Unlike traditional insurance sales roles, you will not be responsible for prospecting or purchasing leads. Amplify provides a pipeline of qualified inbound opportunities, allowing you to focus on what you do best: educating clients, building relationships, and helping customers make informed financial decisions.

You will develop and manage your own book of business, serving as the primary point of contact throughout the client journey. From needs analysis and policy design to policy delivery, you will own the client relationship and drive successful outcomes.

This role is ideal for highly motivated sales professionals who thrive in a performance-driven environment, enjoy helping clients achieve their financial goals, and are excited about combining technology, finance, and relationship-based selling.

What You'll Do Client Acquisition & Sales
  • Engage qualified inbound leads provided by Amplify through outbound calls, SMS, and email communications.

  • Ensure clients understand their policy structure, benefits, premium commitments, and long-term objectives.

  • Confirm successful policy delivery.

  • Identify opportunities for additional coverage, policy optimization, or future planning discussions.

  • Foster long-term client relationships that drive retention and referrals.

Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Partner with case managers, operations teams, and leadership to improve client outcomes.

  • Participate actively in sales coaching, training sessions, and team meetings.

  • Maintain required insurance licensing and continuing education requirements.

  • Contribute feedback to improve sales processes, customer experience, and platform enhancements.

Compliance and Documentation
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable insurance regulations

  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

  • Experience utilizing CRM systems, sales technology, and productivity tools.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented.
