Job Summary

Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) is offering collaborative, energetic, community-oriented candidates the opportunity to become a full-time Teen Services Library Assistant at the Brambleton Library in Brambleton, VA. As a member of an enthusiastic team, Teen Services Library Assistants:

  • Provide direct customer service in reference, reader's advisory, programming and circulation functions.
  • Assist customers in the use of library resources and technologies.
  • Work in a collaborative environment with other staff to complete daily tasks, conduct programs and coordinate outreach.
  • Plan and lead programs for teens.
  • Conduct outreach and create partnerships with community organizations.
Successful candidates will be passionate, creative team players with excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Must possess strong multi-tasking, organizational and technology skills. All staff work in a collaborative environment to complete daily tasks, conduct programs and coordinate outreach. LCPL provides services seven (7) days a week. Work schedules vary and include weekends, evenings and holidays.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma; two (2) years of prior experience providing direct customer service to the public; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred. Loudoun County provides a language stipend for individuals who pass a language proficiency test.
