Job description

Overview: The Research Department at Alnylam is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Associate Scientist to join our innovative targeted delivery team. The successful candidate will provide critical hands-on support for ligand discovery projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, contribute to the development of novel therapeutics, and grow within a dynamic and collaborative research environment.

This is an onsite lab-based position and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA. Key Responsibilities Support ligand discovery campaigns by executing key experiments for ligand discovery, screening, and characterization under the guidance of project leads. Perform high-throughput screening and selection using cell-based assay.

Execute Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows, including library preparation from single cells. Perform standard molecular biology techniques, including PCR, plasmid preparation, and cloning. Run and assist in the development of automated, high-throughput screening assays to characterize ligand properties such as affinity, specificity, and internalization.

Maintain detailed and accurate records of all experimental work and data in electronic lab notebooks. Collaborate closely with other members of the cross-functional team to ensure project goals are met. Assist in data analysis, interpretation, and the preparation of presentations for internal meetings.

Qualifications BS/MS in Biology, Cell/Molecular Biology or related field with 3-6 years of work experience, preferably in an industrial setting. Familiarity with flow cytometry and NGS library preparation is required. Hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, cloning, DNA/RNA extraction) is required

Experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays is highly desirable. Direct experience with single B cell isolation and screening technologies is a significant plus. #LI-JR1 U.S

Pay Range $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity)
