Job description

Are you an avid reader? Do you dream of shelving books? Detail oriented volunteers who love to organize are needed to help the Friends of Johnson County Library.

Positions currently available are:

  • Vintage Books Researcher (Tuesday afternoons) - ability to search the internet to determine which books to keep and how to price them
  • Recycling (Wednesday mornings) - Volunteers are needed to cut pages out of unsellable books. Pages are then recycled.

Volunteers must be able to stand and move frequently in warehouse environment. They must also be able to bend and lift books up to 20 lbs.

Volunteers are asked to commit to one - 3 hour shift per week for a minimum of six months. Shifts are available from either 9AM-Noon or Noon-3PM.

A volunteer interview and training are required.
